Batik Workshops – 22nd August 2018

An opportunity to explore the Batik process for all ages. Batik is a “resist” process for making designs on fabric. The artist uses wax to prevent dye from penetrating the cloth, leaving “blank” areas in the dyed fabric. The process, wax resist then dye, can be repeated over and over to create complex multicolored designs.

Fabric swatches will be provided but feel free to bring along any fabric items, (preferably white), that you would like to decorate, pillow case, T-Shirt etc.

(Please be aware that Batik uses hot wax to create designs)
